About:

St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton: As a premier academic and research healthcare organization, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton (SJHH) is committed to making a difference in people’s lives and creating a lasting future for our community through integrated health services and internationally recognized programs. Our threefold mission is to provide dynamic research, revolutionary methods in health sciences education, and the highest standard of clinical care in a spirit of compassion, innovation and commitment. SJHH has earned a national reputation for outstanding patient care and innovative medical and surgical treatments. The Hospital is particularly well known for excellence in respiratory care, kidney and urinary care, mental health and addictions, surgical services, cancer surgery and eye care. We are also recognized as a leading academic and research centre. SJHH recently installed a state-of-the-art digital Health Information System, making it the first academic health sciences centre in Canada to implement the same system as leading North American hospitals Kaiser Permanente and the Cleveland Clinic. SJHH has now reached Level 6 (on a scale of 7) of the Health Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) scale of digital technology, making us one of 13 Canadian hospitals (top 2%) at the forefront of using digital technology to improve patient health.

St. Joseph’s Home Care: To meet with the ever-increasing demands for health care whether traditional or alternative, St. Joseph's Home Care provides a multitude of services in response to the community need. The St. Joseph's Home Care mandate is to help people including the frail, elderly, and disabled lead more independent lives. We do this through our nursing, personal and home support and volunteer services, as well as our Constant Care, Palliative Care, Healing Touch, With Seniors in Mind, and Corporate Health programs tailored to meet the needs of the individual.

St. Joseph’s Villa Dundas: St. Joseph's Villa's has built a new vision of long-term care, one that understands that "there's no place like home". Over $70 million in new buildings have transformed the Villa and Estates into a modern home with a continuum of care, able to meet the needs of seniors and their families now and into the future. The Margaret and Charles Juravinski Wing and the Anne and Neil McArthur Family Wing, having opened in 2004, provide wheelchair accessible "resident home areas", each with 20 to 25 spacious rooms, private washrooms, dining, leisure activity, and living rooms to replace current multiple-bed wards.

St. Joseph’s Health System: St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, St. Joseph’s Villa Dundas and St. Joseph’s Home Care are members of the St. Joseph’s Health System. Founded in the healing mission of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Hamilton, St. Joseph's Health System was established in 1991 to meet the challenges of the changing environment for delivery of health and social services and takes pride in a system-wide commitment to caring for the whole person: body, mind and spirit. Today, we are one of the largest corporations in Canada devoted to health care. Our member organizations each offer services according to their strengths, from acute care, long-term care, and community care, to rehabilitation, hospice, community outreach, and mental health.
