Falls Prevention Safety at Home
What the Safety at Home Program Provides
The Safety at Home Program promotes independence and mobility among older adults, allowing them to stay healthy, safe, and strong at home. Our focus is to prevent falls through education and increasing awareness of the services and support available to reduce risks of falls at home.
Quality Services
We offer:
- FREE individualized home assessment with a summary of recommendations promoting independence and mobility

Our recommendations will be for things like night lights, improved lighting, installation of grab bars and hand railings and use of assistive devices.
- Assistive Devices like rollators/walkers, cane, hand held showers, bath seats/chairs/bench, Higher toilet, raised toilet seat, a Reacher, installation of ramp, removing scatter mats, tub assist rail and bed railing, etc.

- Essential parts and equipment such as a grab bar installation, which will increase the safety of your home
- We will refer to OT services where specialized ADs are required
**Subsidy is available for the installation of grab bars for seniors that cannot afford the cost of grab bars. They must be willing to complete a subsidy application and disclose their income to support the need.
Referral Process
You must be 55 years of age or older to be eligible for this service.
