Every year, on April 28th we pay our respects to those who have been injured or killed on the job, and those who suffer from an occupational disease.
It is also a time to honour the families and friends that have been affected by these tragedies.
In Canada alone, 852 workers died from workplace-related injuries or illnesses, and another 232,629 suffered a lost-time injury or illness in 2015.*
Most of us can recall a time throughout our work paths where there was a close call, an injury, or an unsafe situation; and if not, chances are we know or have heard of someone who has. Health & Safety is everyone’s responsibility and is something that can change our lives so quickly.
On April 28th especially, SJHC remembers those who’s health and safety was put at risk on the job. SJHC makes every effort to ensure all staff feel/and are safe and comfortable in their day to day roles. Please join us in making health and safety your first priority in all that you do; to remember that every moment counts and to work safely for ourselves, our co-workers, our friends, and our families.
