ST. JOSEPH'S ORGANIZATIONS IN HAMILTON WIN SPECTATOR’S READERS’ CHOICE AWARDS!

Every year the Hamilton Spectator hosts an online nomination site where people from the community can go to nominate their favourite service or professionals from the community so they can be recognized. The Hamilton Spectator’s Readers’ Choice Awards were announced in November 2014 and St. Joseph's organizations in Hamilton received recognition in both the service and professionals category.

Recognized for Our Compassionate Care for Seniors in Our Community:

Most notably, St. Joseph’s Home Care was recognized for the fantastic work we do to keep our community’s seniors healthy, along with our sister organization St. Joseph’s Villa Dundas which received the award for Nursing and Long-Term Care.

St. Joseph's Home Care – Diamond Award for Home Health Care

St. Joseph’s Home Care received a Diamond Award, a top honour in the Home Health Care category. St. Joseph’s Home Care (SJHC) has provided value-based community nursing services in a spirit of compassion, and commitment for over 90 years. St. Joseph's Home Care is committed to delivering exemplary client-focused care to the Hamilton Community tailoring home care programs to meet the needs of each individual client with respect to cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.

St. Joseph's Villa Dundas – Platinum Award for Nursing and Long Term Care

St. Joseph’s Villa Dundas was recognized with a Platinum Award, finishing first place in the Nursing and Long term Care category! St. Joseph’s Villa Dundas is one of Ontario’s largest long term care homes, with a vibrant community activity centre and fitness gym. St. Joseph’s Villa Dundas provides respite care for seniors living out in our community.

St. Joseph's Healthcare Hearing Aid Clinics - Gold Award for Hearing Services

Congratulations to the Hearing Aid Clinic at St. Joseph’s Healthcare for receiving a Gold Award for Hearing Services! Their dedicated team of expert audiologists is committed to providing quality patient centered care to our patients as well as the most current information regarding advancements in hearing aid technology. At the hearing aid clinic, a team of professionals ensures that clients' hearing needs are assessed, reviewed, discussed and managed.

St. Joe’s Docs Are Favourites Too!

St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton physicians are crowd pleasers as well, with first and second place (Platinum and Diamond) in the Doctor category both going to St. Joe’s Obstetricians. Congratulations to Dr. Raj Ramanna and Dr. David Small!

In the Psychologist category, two West 5th Campus based professionals were honoured. Dr. Lisa Bourque from the Anxiety Research and Treatment Centre with Platinum and Dr. Michele Laliberte from the Outpatient Eating Disorders Program received a Gold award. Dermatologists, Dr. Ronald Vender, received a Platinum and plastic surgeon, Dr. Achilleas Thoma, received a Gold.
