Personal Care and Home Support Roles at SJHC

Personal Care and Home Support are rewarding careers that offer flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our home care clients.

SJHC employs Personal and Home Support Workers who provide a range of help at home services including personal care support (bath, shower), light housekeeping, laundry, home maintenance, meal preparation, and assistance with instrumental activities of daily living.

Our qualified Personal Support Workers also provide Caregiver/ Companionship Relief that allows family members acting as primary caregivers to attend to personal needs while their loved one’s safety is ensured.

We offer full-time, part-time and casual employment either in the community or at one of our Assisted Living in Supportive Housing programs:

SJHC employs companions who provide the following services in our community:

• Light housekeeping and laundry in clients' homes
• Helping with hobbies (walking, reading, games, etc)
• Escorting clients to appointments and events including shopping, outings, and medical appointments
• Light meal preparation

SJHC employs home cleaners who provide the following services in our clients’ homes:

• Light housekeeping
• Laundry

SJHC employs dietary aides who provide healthy meals to clients through SJHC’s food services program.
